On Monday,
Eric Asimov was quoted as thinking French Malbec wines from Cahors are good value. The famous wine critic didn't even seem to question the fact his readers and wine drinkers knew and appreciated French Malbec wines from Cahors.
Today I just read an interesting discussion on an other blog. It seems Cahors wines are not as widely known from American consumers: "While it is taken completely for granted in the US that Malbec is much better than Cahors, the French version of it, I would tend to dispute it", writes one blogger. The other one chipped in: "OK, first of all, I don't know anyone in the US who says that. OTOH, I
know a lot of people in the US who have never heard of Cahors, but
that's another story!"
