Continents away from France, in Argentina, Malbec is a thriving varietal in this New World wine producer. Malbec as a solo varietal is also Argentina’s biggest contribution to the wine world, almost like the Shiraz is to Australia. Malbec can be plummy, floral, minerally, and silky in texture, but Argentinian wines has made heavy oaked versions that surprisingly very good as well."
