Two scientists give us their views about Malbec of Cahors. First, Dr. Nicolas Vivas, researcher and professor at the Université de Bordeaux talks about terroir and its relation to wine.

We then spoke to Dr. Mark Lipton, a long time wine lover and an associate professor at Purdue about his impressions of Malbec as a variety and the wines of Cahors.

In his blog Le Québecois du vin à Paris, Fabrice Durou writes (in French) about French Malbec. He tasted and was delighted by the Château de Gaudou "Renaissance" 2004. "Who called the wine of Cahors 'rustic'". Durou doesn't agree!

Last December, Gary Vaynerchuk tasted some wines from Cahors, a region of France that he has long enjoyed. Cahors with its fantastic Malbec grape variety is one of the finest values in the wine world, sit back and watch Gary do it to it!

He particularly seemed to like
2003 Chat Lamartine Cahors Cuvee Particuliere and the
2003 Clos Triguedina Cahors
